Carry On Commerce and YOU!

Monday, December 28th, 2009

Hey folks…

I’d like the opportunity to talk with you a little bit more about your business. More specifically, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and online marketing/web development for your website.

Please give me a call or visit http://www.carryoncommerce.com for more information.

With the 2010 Roadmap To Success, we will review the current website for your business, giving you pointers on what you’re doing well and where you can improve. We’ll give your site a cumulative grade in where it’s currently ranking for each section. We will also review current marketing procedures with you and address ways that you may be able to increase your overall exposure in 2010.

My 2010 Roadmap To Success is a sensible and affordable site evaluation. In addition, we’ll put everything into an easy to read Adobe PDF so that you can print it out and have your Carry On Commerce 2010 Roadmap To Success with you as a checklist throughout the year. We will also schedule a half hour consultation by phone to help you to further understand the review.

Please see the details on the website, and if you have any further questions, I encourage you to call or email at any time. Don’t forget to take advantage of this before the end of the year for a last minute business deduction!

Delightful December!

Monday, December 21st, 2009

It is TRULY a Delightful December for me.

I’ve been working my little tail off getting my family all settled in our new home, but any spare moment has been spent researching some new additions to the product list and getting some new clients all set up for the new year.  I am officially really, really excited!

As I get closer to celebrating Christmas with my family this week, I have the opportunity to do something that I haven’t been able to do for years. My kids are out of school for the holidays- and this year I don’t have to worry about where they’re going to be while I’m at work. I know exactly where they are… right in the house with me! In addition, I received a call from my sister this morning who needs a little help with her kids. So tomorrow, I’ll have 7 kids here with me. I’m not sure how much work I’ll be getting done tomorrow, but I’m excited to be able to help out my sister and to be in the position where I know I can.

On a business front… I am looking forward to having some new offerings and even… a new website structure in January. I can’t wait!

I hope you are all having a terrific holiday season and to those of you who are celebrating Christmas with me, Merry Christmas!

Happy Holidays!

Monday, December 14th, 2009

It’s been a very busy week for me, and I’ve been away from the keyboard way more than I normally am. After we got back from our trip to the Northeast, I had movers arrive the next day- and I’ve moved my household for the second time this year. I’ve been so busy trying to get everything in its place quickly that it’s taken nearly every ounce of energy I have had in the past week!

Thankfully, it’s just about DONE… and to top it off, I’ve even got our Christmas tree up. My daughter Kaitlyn was very concerned about our tree. As she put it, “How else will Santa know where to bring our gifts?”

So it’s up. My plan for this week is to finish editing the videos that I took while out of town and get them up for you to see. I got the chance to visit with some companies in Philadelphia, and I’m excited to share some coupon codes with you- as well as the videos!

Some new developments at Carry On Commerce are the additions of an Email Marketing Program as well as an SMS Text Messaging Marketing Program. Both are affordable and I’m very excited about them!

The SMS Text Messaging Marketing Program is something that we’ll be offering for $99/month with NO LONG TERM AGREEMENTS. That’s right, it’s MONTH TO MONTH. For that, you’ll get a Keyword code and 1000 texts per month. If you plan on sending more, we can accommodate your marketing needs with a larger package.
More on that later. If you’re interested in signing up, just contact me.

Well, it’s time for this busy little Elf to hit the hay and get some rest for tomorrow’s activities. I hope all of you are having a wonderful holiday season. Happy Hanukah to my friends celebrating this week!

The Great Cheesesteak Debate!

Friday, December 4th, 2009

Mark and I are traveling the streets of Philadelphia and decided that we were going to visit both Pat’s AND Geno’s… and share a cheesesteak at each place so we could accurately assess the “best cheesesteak”.  Here’s a little video of the fun…

Audrey’s Artsy Side…

In addition to being a Strategic Marketing and Business Development Diva, did you know I also enjoy singing and songwriting? It’s true!

I used to live in Nashville, TN, where I was fortunate enough to sing with many of today’s favorite country singers. At 12th & Porter, I sang backup with Gretchen Wilson (we shared a microphone singing backup for Shannon Lawson) during a Musik Mafia event. I’ve sang on just about every bar stage in Nashville, and worked with some of my favorite singers writers and friends- Mark Kerr, Danny Wells, John Michael Montgomery, Trent Tomlinson, Trailer Choir, Gary Hannan and Todd Milsap to name a few.

I’m really not a name-dropper so I only mentioned the people I know who wouldn’t mind me sharing their names with you! Here’s one video of me singing to my camera… an old Beatles tune that I grew up listening to with my dad. It’s one of my favorites…

In addition to singing, I’m an accomplished visual artist as well. I primarily work with acrylics and mixed media. My artwork has been selling on eBay, online and in person since 1999. I still get commissioned for art every now and then- and have prints available for some of my earlier work (related to childbirth, etc) at www.cafepress.com/momsartwork. I’ll post some images of newer artwork of mine soon.

And I’m pretty excited to say that my boyfriend Mark and I are currently working on a CD of our music together… we’re looking forward to getting that finished up in the next several months. See, 2010 has lots of fantastic opportunities for everyone. What’s your passion?

I want to hear about what makes YOU excited. For me, it’s analyzing businesses/marketing and helping people succeed… along with singing, writing and painting. When I do all of the above, my soul just sings! What about YOU? Tell me! Reply as a comment below or if you want to keep it between the two of us, just send me an email or message through Facebook or Twitter! I’m excited… can’t wait to hear about YOU!

Please feel free to comment regarding the music as well. :)

Books Books Books! Oh, and recommendations!

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

This post is a little more on the personal side rather than business related… but… in the past week, I’ve had several books arrive at my doorstep! I am quite excited about several of them.

The first, is a signed first edition copy of CRUSH IT! by Gary Vaynerchuk. I won it, thanks to Bradley Will at www.unstrappd.com – I’m very excited to read what Gary has to say simply because he has a very similar mindset when it comes to marketing. It’s non-stop, folks!

Me and my Signed First Edition of CRUSH IT!

I also had a copy of The Davinci Method by Garret Laporto arrive, and I’m reading that now. For all you creative folks, I think you’ll enjoy it. I know I am!

Then there was the assortment of personal books… along with a couple of Nora Roberts new series about weddings. Those are entertaining and light reading for me, but I have been so immersed in everything else that it seems that those are going to wait a bit longer.

So there you have my reading list, currently.

One more thing that has me all sorts of excited tonight was my LinkedIN profile recommendations that I’ve received.

Kevin Lynn’s recommendation made me smile tonight. I’ve worked with Kevin at two different companies, and have always thought he was “the bees knees”. So here’s what Kevin had to say about me:

“Audrey is a dynamic human being. She has an energy and a focus which makes any goal which she sets seem reasonable and attainable. Her enthusiasm brings people around to her way of thinking. She is one of those people I think of as a “business force of nature.” Frankly, I always hoped someday to be able to recommend Audrey. My reasoning is simple. Audrey will be a success, at whatever endeavor she chooses. And because of that, she will always make me look smart. She is bright, insightful, hugely energetic, and exceptionally goal-oriented. You’re damned right I recommend Audrey Korshoff.”

See why it made me smile?

I’ve got a few surprises in the works… and more bloggish content coming your way… Along with a few videos! Yup, you read that right. Videos.

Well, I hope you all have a great night and remember that genius strategic marketing is the sum of all the parts. It takes work, focus and a roadmap. If you need the roadmap, give me a call. I’ll assist you in putting one together that’s unique for your business.

Have a great night and a better tomorrow!

Online Marketing Misconceptions – volume 1

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

One of the biggest misconceptions I have heard in recent years is the over-dependence on the “IT guy” or “IT girl” in any office. Yes, these men and women are often intelligent and talented – but just like everyone else, they can’t do it all. I can’t tell you how often I cringe when I hear that people are leaving their internet marketing decisions to the “IT department”.

No offense to the managers who are making this type of decision, but speaking candidly, how stupid is that?

Really! A formula for business success is this: strong business plan + marketing = sales

Why are you (as a business owner/manager) putting the person who is handling the “plan” part of things (i.e. the website development) solely in charge of a major portion of your online marketing dollars? Often times, the people in the “IT department” are not great at marketing or planning marketing dollars- despite their knowledge of the online aspect of it- yet more often than not, I keep hearing about this happening.

What’s worse, is that I hear of business managers complaining that they’ve “tried SEO” or “tried PPC” and had a budget BACKFIRE! I can’t stress enough how important it is for the folks who are in charge of handing out the money for these services to understand what they are, how they work and on average what they should cost/what they’re willing to spend.

More importantly, if you (as an owner/manager) don’t understand how you are spending your advertising budget, then you should hire me. You need someone who can look at your business objectively (as opposed to asking your in-house IT manager who doesn’t care to educate you or save you money- their primary concern is to still have a job and get paid) and help you understand and navigate the world of online advertising and social media marketing. I promise that the short term investment involved to hire me as a consultant will save you money in the long run. Hiring me will allow you to be more involved in any future marketing dollars spent, simply because you’ll understand where and how to allocate funds based on your sales and business objectives.

I’m sure I’ll have more to say on the misconceptions front, so I’ll leave this as volume 1.
